A Caregiving Comfort: Inside
The stress and worries of caregiving may lead you to wonder: Where did I go?
When you look at yourself in the mirror, you may wonder:
Where did I go?
You look so different than you did. You look heavy because of the stress you carry. You look tired because of the worries that keep you up at night. You look uncomfortable because the stress and worries make life hard to live.
On the outside, you feel like you've been replaced. That feels awful.
A caregiving experience may put a temporary facade on you. It makes sense that stress and worries will impact you.
On your inside, though, you are the same.
When you wonder where you went, know you are just staying inside during your caregiving experience. Inside, you are wise, calm, caring, healthy and well.
Continue to care for what's inside you. Some day, your inside will be your outside, too.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts in our survey about the help and support you want and need. Your insights will help me as I put together our initiative to encourage researchers to donate a percentage of research funds to support family caregivers. If you haven’t had a chance to complete the survey yet, you’ll find it here. It takes about 5 minutes.
Tell us a story that weighs heavy on October 10 during our Caregiving Listener Project.
We gathered yesterday for our monthly Caregiver Support Live Show. Watch our discussion as we help a family caregiver whose caree creates crises and has never-ending demands.
