This week’s question asked about the impact of caregiving stress on your life. Almost 60% of respondents indicated that, because of stress, they lose interest in what they once loved. (Miss the question? Take our five-minute survey and tell us about the impact of your caregiving stress.)
“I'm on edge a lot,” shared one of the survey respondents. “Don't know what will happen next. Days spent just trying to keep hubby safe from falls and bad decisions.”
How do we cope with the stress?
We pray. More than 50% of respondents turn to prayer to manage their stress. Our prayer connects us to support and understanding, which helps us cope. Which prayers help you most? Please share in our comments section, below.
I’ve written a prayer for you which I hope helps.
Our Prayer of Comfort
When I feel I’ve reached the end of my rope, please give me time. With time, I can find more of what I need.
When I worry I’ve run out of patience, please give me energy. With energy, I can remain calm.
When I fear I don’t have enough, please give me courage. With courage, I can ask for what I need so I have enough.
When I dread what could happen next, please give me hope. With hope, I can see beyond the worst to find my best.
When I can’t believe this is my life, give me faith. With faith, I can forgive my life’s challenges and connect to my life’s blessings.
Guide me so I can receive the time, energy, courage, hope and faith I need. Love me so I can continue to love my life, even on my life’s worst days. Console me so I feel supported as I continue into my next moment.
Thank you for your faith in me. I am blessed to be trusted to do Your Work here on Earth.
Amen.
Beautiful, thank you
