Last week, I asked about your thoughts about your future. We also talked about the future during a special event we held on Friday, Release a Worry with a Family Emergency Plan. (We’ll regularly hold this event, Release a Worry with a Family Emergency Plan. If you missed Friday’s event, follow us on Eventbrite to receive notifications when we schedule events so you don’t miss the next one.)
Many shared concerns about what the future could bring. During a caregiving experience, thoughts about the future bring up lots of reasons to worry.
I believe every worry needs a plan.
To help you create a plan for your worries, I’ve created two tools, part of our Caregiving Wheels, which can help:
Use the worry wheel to pinpoint the most pressing worry. Then, use the plan wheel to think about actions you can take to manage the worry.
You also can use our Family Emergency Planning Tool to put a plan in place for any emergencies that could happen. During a caregiving experience, we manage the crises that come up. With plans in place, we can take steps now to prepare for what could come next.
If you would like good company to help you make plans, consider working with one of our Certified Caregiving Consultants. You can schedule a free 30-minute session to experience what it’s like to work with a consultant. The consultant also will share costs if you would like to continue working with a consultant. Our consultants have a personal caregiving experience plus have completed our exhaustive training. Because of their personal caregiving experience, they understand what your days may be like. Because of our training, they can effectively support you where you are.
We have worries because a caregiving experiences gives us lots of reasons for concerns. The worries don’t have to overtake our days. We can use the worries to create the plans which give us the peace of mind we so deserve.
