Thank you for:
Making phone call after phone call after phone call after… Who could keep track of all the phone calls you need to make to just get closer to receiving the services and support you need? You do. You keep track.
Taking a break but not giving up. You give yourself breathers to recover and then you get back to it. It’s tempting to throw in the towel. You may banter it about a bit but you keep carrying it.
Understanding the nuance of sometimes holding your tongue and sometimes speaking out. Using that nuance effectively is a rare skill.
Delegating, organizing, monitoring, scheduling, providing, caring. Each moment requires so much of you.
Crying when you can. You have so many reasons for tears to fall and yet few opportunities to safely shed them. We understand the challenge of letting it out and are grateful to you when you do.
It’s difficult to capture all you do in a simple post.
What can we thank you for doing, making, creating today?
Going home and making dinner instead of running away
Thanks Denise. Here's a few more:
- navigating through / distracting our loved ones from the uncertainty, limbo-state between tests/investigations and results. Here in the UK that can be weeks.
- closing loops/chasing communication between medics, between family & friends (who may also have health issues), checking for appointments
- curating moments of giggles and fun
- managing house-admin, repairs, finances, washing, cleaning, bed-making., watering plants, shopping tailored to needs
- blocking unwanted calls, checking all bills, ensuring devices are 'charged'
- planning finances/trying to work
I could go on but .....thanks for the tulips ;-)
