This is so important. Thank you for doing this Denise.

I have some feelings around internalized blame for not noticing things were going south for Tony - while he was in hospital. I spoke about it in a video I did for Patients for Patient Safety Canada for World Patient Safety Day in September (https://youtu.be/ezo1KB_VTsk?si=fKUEb_9bpRqfULzB)

I think a lot of care partners and family members carry this same guilt and blame, when it's not really ours to carry.

You are spot on. I think we see how much pain our caree has and because we live with it, we think we should have done something about it sooner. There's so much to a caree's complicated health, though. Obviously, a lot of health care professionals missed my mom's diagnosis. (I mean a lot!!) Just so hard for us and for our carees when we feel powerless. Thank you so much for sharing, Beth. You help so many.
